Leicester flanker Tom Croft and Northampton lock Christian Day got England Six Nations call-ups from England head coach Stuart Lancaster for the Lions’ 34-man training squad that assembled today in order to prepare for England’s opening game against Wales a week from now. Croft has won 38 caps for Leicester along with five caps for the Lions to date. Uncapped Day and Croft replaced recently injured Geoff Parling and Tom Wood.

Day will compete for one of two starting Lions’ births with Locks Dave Attwood, Graham Kitchener, Geoff Parling and George Kruis.

Also injured are England’s Owen Farrell, Kyle Eastmond, Luther Burrell, Joe Launchbury, Ed Slater, Courtney Lawes, and Brad Barritt.
