History

It all started in 1883 with the Home Nations Championship. At that time England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales played in the tournament. France joined in 1910 which changed the name of the tournament into Five Nations. In 1931 France left the tournament, only to rejoin it after World War 2 in 1947. In 2000 Italy joined to create a Six Nations.
