Eddie Jones got 9 more days to pick Six Nations squad

The England rugby team is one of the best teams in the World at the moment. They got to the Rugby World Cup final in 2019 and won the Six Nations tournament a year later. In 2021, they finished on a 5th place. It clearly wasn’t their year last season and Eddie Jones wants to do everything he can to get revanche for last year. The Rugby Football Union now announced the date they need all squads announced for the 2022 Six Nations Tournament.

Time for a new generation

Eddie Jones turned England into a real rugby force. But in the last year, he’s making some big changes in his team. He’s giving more and more youngsters an opportunity to show themself to the world. Something that’s probably one of the hardest things to do as a manager. He’s saying goodbye to some of the older players, who did very well for him over the years, in order to give the new generation a chance. He tested quite a few youngster during the Autumn Internationals last year.

The RFU announced the 18th of January 2022 as date where all managers need to announce their squad. They haven’t give an indication on the size of the squad. Eddie Jones announced a 34 man squad for the Autumn Internationals mid-October. It’s going to be very interesting to see who he will select for the Six Nations.
