Ben Youngs could miss November Tests through injury

Leicester and England were dealt a blow after it emerged Ben Youngs could miss the first rounds of the Heineken Cup and November's Tests.

Youngs recently had surgery on his shoulder, which he injured in the final stages of the second Test against South Africa in Johannesburg on June 16.

What makes the news even more frustrating for Richard Cockerill and Stuart Lancaster is that the 22-year-old looked to have recaptured top form.

"Ben has had surgery and he is having holiday time at the minute, which is important," a realistic Cockerill told reporters.

"He will miss the first rounds of the Heineken Cup (October 12/13/14 and October 19/20/21), which is not ideal because you want your best players playing in the biggest games."

Leicester Tigers will look to Micky Young and Sam Harrison to step up to the plate in the scrum-half's absence, but Cockerill was left upset about the expecting timing of his return while saying Tom Croft should be ready at the end of September.
