Arsenal routs Nowich to go back on top as Newcastle denies Liverpool
Liverpool were made to work for a 2-2 draw by ten-man Newcastle Utd on Saturday lunchtime in a match they will be disappointed to take only a point from.
Midfielder Yohan Cabaye opened the scoring for Newcastle on 23 minutes played before Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard equalised from the penalty spot just before half-time.
Liverpool were awarded the penalty after striker Luis Suarez was brought down by Newcastle's Moupa Yanga-Mbiwa, who saw red.
Substitute Paul Dummett restored the home side’s lead in the 56th minute — but Daniel Sturridge‘s diving header leveled proceedings late in the game to earn the Reds a draw.
Neither side seemed content with a point and there was late drama and seven minutes of exta time yet nothing could separate the sides despite The Reds' extra man advantage.

Arsenal 4-1 Norwich City
Two goals from Mesut Ozil gave Arsenal a highly convincing 4-1 win over Norwich City to send the Gunners back to the top of the Premier League.
The game began with neither side threatening the oppositions goal but the Gunners looked very comfortable in possession. Arsenal’s patience paid off eventually though, as Wilshere started off and finished a series of sublime flicks to put the Gunners one up, just 18 minutes in.
The Gunners came close to extending their lead just before the break as Russell Martin gave the ball away in a dangerous area allowing Kieran Gibbs to raid inside the box and he cut a pass back to Giroud, who fired a shot at goal but he was denied by an excellent save from Ruddy.
Norwich almost found a leveller themselves when Leroy Fer surged forward through the midfield and powered an effort at goal from distance and Wojciech Szczesny was forced into making a good save.
After the break Szczesny was called into action again to deny efforts from Martin Olsson and Robert Snodgrass from outside the penalty area.
The Gunners took advantage of Norwich's lack of prowess in front of goal and doubled their lead with a slick move on the counter-attack, finished off by Mesut Ozil as he headed home from close range from Giroud's pinpoint cross into the area.
Arsenal were on the edge of their seats again in the 70th minute, however, when Howson drilled home from just inside the box after Per Mertesacker failed to clear an Elliott Bennett cross.
But any hope of a comeback from the visitors was quickly ended by Aaron Ramsey as he scored a brilliant third for the Gunners. He beat two men with a lovely bit of skill inside the box and fired a shot past Ruddy to all but secure his side's win.
Ozil made sure of the victory with two minutes left in the game with Ramsey this time the architect. The Welshman powered into the penalty area and cut the ball back to the German international, who was left with a simple finish.
The Gunners are now 2 points ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.
