Wales dominated in a one-sided opening, and were 6-3 ahead at the interval, as Wales captain Sam Warburton opted for a scrum from a penalty just before half-time. After the interval, Wales opened with 10 points in six minutes, as Biggar kicked a penalty after Warburton was hauled down. Wales nudged ahead early in the second half, and George North's try helped Wales earn a 13-point lead early in the second half.

Northampton wing Jonathan Davies kicked into the open space and North sprinted clear missing the ball before having it kicked back to him by Jules Plisson to dive over for his 25th Wales try. Wales held firm against France's captain Guirado’s line-outs and scrums, and finally broke free. Biggar rewarded the effort with a 65th-minute penalty to win the match, but France had the final say when Guirado touched down and substitute Francois Trinh-duc converted. But France’s Guilhem Guirado’s try was too late. Warren Gatland's Wales side have won seven consecutive Six Nations Rugby matches. Key rugby players in the match were Wales scrum-half Gareth Davies and Sam Warburton.
